Musings from a Ragamuffin

"Christianity is not a series of truths in the plural, but rather a truth spelled with a capital 'T'. Truth about total reality, not just about religious things. Biblical Christianity is Truth concerning total reality - and the intellectual hold of that Total Truth and then living in the light of that Truth." - Francis Schaeffer

New Theme Song: What If

What if you're right
He was just another nice guy
What if you're right
What if it's true
They say the cross will only make a fool of you
And what if it's true

What if He takes His place in history
With all the prophets and the kings
Who taught us love, and came in peace
But then the story ends
What then

But what if you're wrong
What if there's more
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for
What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love

What if you dig
Way down deeper than your simple-minded friends
What if you dig
What if you find
A thousand more unanswered questions down inside
That's all you find

What if you pick apart the logic
And begin to poke the holes
What if the crown of thorns is no more than folklore that must be told
And retold

But what if you're wrong
What if there's more
What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for
What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love

'Cause you've been running as fast as you can
You've been looking for a place you can land
For so long
But what if you're wrong

What if you jump
Just close your eyes
What if the arms that catch you, catch you by surprise
What if He's more than enough
What if it's love

What if it's love

- Nichole Nordeman, Brave (2005)

Yes, I know it's not Monday. But cheer up! It is a post after all. :) And what better way to start a Wednesday. Also, playing in concert at the Dodge Theater January 25th and 26th is Chris Tomlin. I think we are going to try to go to it. Should be fun - he's a good artist/singer/songwriter.

Great song. When I was at the Women of Faith conference I saw Nicole perform this song live and immediately thought of you. Who knew apologetics could be set to music and be made to sound so pretty... ;) j/k

Nichole is my favorite Christian artist, and this is one of her best songs. The whole album is fantastic, as are all of her other works! She is often described as a poet with thought provoking lyrics and organic song-writing. Her songs are always inspiring, and many can move you to tears, or they do me anyway...
